I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba, in the heart of Canada. I have two kids, who I stay closely in touch with and cherish. I have had a stroke. I am single. I used to be a journalist, except now I'm retired and only type with one hand anyway and don't do the IM thing very well. The only thing I occupy is my bathroom. I have been to many places, including India, Afghanistan, Pakistan, the Middle East, most of Europe, much of the U.S., and all of Canada except Prince Edward Island, the Northwest Territories and the Yukon. I have separately visited Spain for the 1992 Summer Olympics, Finland for the 1991 World Hockey Championship, Germany and Argentina (to cover the World Women's hockey championships and World men's volleyball championships, respectively), Salt Lake City, Utah for the Winter Olympics, New York, Chicago and other places, mostly for work. I have watched the Twins in Minnesota, the Hoodoos of Montana, the skyscrapers of Manhattan -- before the World Trade Centre disaster.
